I can’t say I feel sorry him, but…..

Maybe it means Phil Jones has a conscience

Der Speigel (Germany) seem to be getting hip to the collapse of the Global Warming Scam.

A Superstorm for Global Warming Research

Life has become “awful” for Phil Jones. Just a few months ago, he was a man with an enviable reputation: the head of the Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, an expert in his field and the father of an alarming global temperature curve that apparently showed how the Earth was heating up as a result of anthropogenic global warming.

Those days are now gone.

Nowadays, Jones, who is at the center of the “Climategate” affair involving hacked CRU emails, needs medication to fall sleep. He feels a constant tightness in his chest. He takes beta-blockers to help him get through the day. He is gaunt and his skin is pallid. He is 57, but he looks much older. He was at the center of a research scandal that hit him as unexpectedly as a rear-end collision on the highway.

It’s beginning to look like the “Deniers” are winning in a rout…

…just as I’ve been predicting since before I started blogging it 2004

Climategate U-turn as scientist at centre of row admits: There has been no global warming since 1995

* Data for vital ‘hockey stick graph’ has gone missing
* There has been no global warming since 1995
* Warming periods have happened before – but NOT due to man-made changes

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

This has been known all along by some of these folks, and I’m hoping there will some indictments, but I doubt it. There are people who should do prison time for promoting what they knew was a lie. Al Gore would do. He’s always wanted to be a religious figure. Let’s nail him up.

World may not be warming, say scientists

The United Nations climate panel faces a new challenge with scientists casting doubt on its claim that global temperatures are rising inexorably because of human pollution.

In its last assessment the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the evidence that the world was warming was “unequivocal”.

It warned that greenhouse gases had already heated the world by 0.7C and that there could be 5C-6C more warming by 2100, with devastating impacts on humanity and wildlife. However, new research, including work by British scientists, is casting doubt on such claims. Some even suggest the world may not be warming much at all.

“The temperature records cannot be relied on as indicators of global change,” said John Christy, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a former lead author on the IPCC.

The doubts of Christy and a number of other researchers focus on the thousands of weather stations around the world, which have been used to collect temperature data over the past 150 years.

These stations, they believe, have been seriously compromised by factors such as urbanisation, changes in land use and, in many cases, being moved from site to site.

Wikipedia caught in Climategate Scandal

I’ve commented positively on Wikipedia, and I’ve linked Wikipedia on this site quite often. I knew that it was slightly slanted to the left, but given that everything else is, I found them to be inside the credibility circle.

Not anymore.

Lawrence Solomon: Wikipedia’s climate doctor

The Climategate Emails reveal something else, too: the enlistment of the most widely read source of information in the world — Wikipedia — in the wholesale rewriting of this history.

The Medieval Warm Period, which followed the meanness and cold of the Dark Ages, was a great time in human history — it allowed humans around the world to bask in a glorious warmth that vastly improved agriculture, increased life spans and otherwise bettered the human condition.

But the Medieval Warm Period was not so great for some humans in our own time — the same small band that believes the planet has now entered an unprecedented and dangerous warm period. As we now know from the Climategate Emails, this band saw the Medieval Warm Period as an enormous obstacle in their mission of spreading the word about global warming. If temperatures were warmer 1,000 years ago than today, the Climategate Emails explain in detail, their message that we now live in the warmest of all possible times would be undermined. As put by one band member, a Briton named Folland at the Hadley Centre, a Medieval Warm Period “dilutes the message rather significantly.”

Even before the Climategate Emails came to light, the problem posed by the Medieval Warm Period to this band was known. “We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period” read a pre-Climategate email, circa 1995, as attested to at hearings of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works. But the Climategate transcripts were more extensive and more illuminating — they provided an unvarnished look at the struggles that the climate practitioners underwent before settling on their scientific dogma.

Climategate – like the legalized money laundering scheme we call American Public Education – is another example of the cancer that is spreading everywhere around us. Corruption, greed, and the lust for political control over the lives of individuals is in the process of destroying our culture.

It is a wonderful thing to see the loss of stature of Obama, along with the crushing defeat of exceedingly bad policy, all happen in one instance. The “Climategate” emails, combined with the obscene (and unnecessary) price tag in a time of global recession, killed this deal. This is a good thing.

Climate Email Hackers = Galileo / Barbara Boxer = Inquisitor

Sadly, science has always been far more politicized than we want to admit. That said, let’s look at Dan Henninger in a WSJ article and video, and his view on the “Climategate” issue.

Next, let’s see what CA Senator Barbara Boxer says about the leak of the emails.

SEN. BOXER (D-CA): “I’ve been looking at these e-mails, even though they were stolen, they are now out in the public and we are now out looking through these e-mails…This is a crime, and I would ask unanimous consent to place into the record section 1030 of U.S. Criminal Code:

‘Fraud and related activity in connection with computers having knowingly accessed a computer without authorization’ it goes on, calling it a crime, so part of our looking at this will be looking at criminal activity”

If the Tea Party Movement, 9-12 folks, and C4L types want to have some fun, they should get on Facebook & Twitter and start a social media campaign for Obama to a) Pardon the Hackers for their contribution to “scientific debate” and the “scientific method,” and b) Lobby the Nobel Committee to award them some “Science Prize” for the same contribution(s).

Here is the frame. The Hackers are Galileo, and their detractors are the Inquisition.
