No, It's not George. It's Just your run of the Mill School Superintendent

In yet another installment of "It's the Rule, Not the Exception" we find another fine example of Illinois' (Americas' really) kleptocratic class stuffing bundles of taxpayer cash in his closet.

Former Secretary of State George Powell would be proud.
___

Cash bundles seized in raid at Ryan home

Investigators searched the home, office and car of Sauk Village schools Supt. Thomas Ryan on Tuesday, emerging with a laundry basket full of cash, a decade's worth of financial papers and a collapsible metal club.

Ryan stashed money throughout his Orland Park home and vehicle, said a source familiar with the search warrants executed by the Cook County state's attorney's office, more than a typical person would keep in their home.

Cook County is investigating Ryan for theft and official misconduct, a probe which began in June after a series of Daily Southtown articles raised questions about district finances.

The school district's attorney, Anthony Scariano, criticized the officers who spent five hours combing through Ryan's personal belongings and district headquarters.

"They still think they're in the Al Capone days," he said.

Plain-clothes investigators collected several boxes of documents, computers and an undisclosed amount of money from the sites, a source close to the investigation said.

The cash stashes were discovered in various places throughout Ryan's one-story, brick house on Narcissus Lane, a source close to the investigation said.

_____

Three quick points.

1. This is going on in one form or another in EVERY district. The more politically insulated the more blatant it is.

2. The attorney (Scariano) is a member of one of the firms that specializes in representing Districts, Superintendents, & all the other entities that connect to the education cartel.

The same firm that negotiates "against" teachers in one district is representing an Individual who fleeces another District. They all play golf with the Judges they work to get elected (so they are protected).

It's the Mafia, only (mostly) legal.

3. The irony that this guy lives on "Narcissus Lane" is delicious. Just listen to their defenses as this case progresses. We (citizens & taxpayers) don't exist. They are incapable of distinguishing between their greed and the rest of the world's interests. They are mentally ill.

This is one of the poorest school district's in the state according to the news report I heard on this story. And apparently the thievery involves others in the district, school board chair.
Yeah how priceless: a street address that's pregnant with the spirit of our times: entitlements & easy living.

Thanks to the law/thelegal profession over these last 30 years. That would be my generation, lawyers who came of age in the 1960's. . . I remember the cases that used to talk reverently about private lawyers as "private attorneys general" suing on behalf of the public interest... Hand in hand with the out of touch judiciary, I believe is the unaccountablility of lawyers to anyone but other lawyers. Lawyers legislating special interest projects via the adversarial process.

What is it with the Ryan name anyhow? Bad luck I'm assuming!
