Best? Movie. Clip. Ever.
I've looked for other bloggers who have this on their websites & haven't seen it yet. This could be my shot at the title (getting linked by Instapundit)
It's my hope that other bloggers download it and link it to their sites as well. If this does get around, it may require more outlets.
Enjoy.
Here it is. Bob Hope says it all.

This is a classic! What movie does the clip come from? You are correct sir, this ought to be all over the internet!

If you're having trouble with bandwidth, torrent it.

I could see the punchline coming, but I still loved it! Thanks for sharing.

Do you have it available in a more widely-used format, like .MOV or .MPG? The only windows media player computers I have access to don't have any sound on them.
Better yet, why not just include what Bob Hope is saying right here in the comments?
Posted by: ScottC at August 23, 2005 05:27 PM
Nope. It's all in the delivery. Get speakers.
I had it yesterday from brutallyhonest.com and blogged it to my site. I have a feeling it is leaking out.

ROFLMAO.
I'm posting it asap at my naughty conservative site.
With luck, this meme can spread for months.

Ah-ha! I found another site that has it as a QuickTime file:
Guy on right: "..a zombie has no will of his own. You see them sometimes, walking around blindly, with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring."
Bob Hope: "You mean like Democrats?"

Thanks for this fantastic find. I shamelessly stole the video and posted it. I did, however, give you the credit as well as making you my featured blog (perhaps one of the seven people who read me will click through to discover you ;D ).
BTW, feel free to steal and post this commercial that I ran across a while ago. I'd love more people to see and enjoy it.

Ha ha ha. Bob Hope is classic. I seriously need to sig this somewhere.

HAHAHAHA! How about this, dipshits?
"It is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country."

Hey OJ,
Take a chill pill. Your humorlessness is surpassed only by your anger. Try to avoid the Koz-inostra, Democratic Underground, and other extremist sites. They aren't helping.
Enjoy life. We conservatives do.

One of the fondly-remembered Bob Hope movies I saw as a child. I noted that portion of the movie a while ago, long before I located the movie on video.
Posted by: wheels at August 24, 2005 02:26 PM
Howdy,
Thanks for this, I put it up on my blog. If anyone needs it in quicktime I converted it and have a .mov file as well.
Posted by: Gerald Hibbs at August 24, 2005 04:26 PM
Thanks Amigo posted the link at his blog. I downloaded a program called Windows Media Classic and it plays almost every kind of movie format plus does not spy on you like the Windows later players. I got rid of Realplayer for the same reasons.

too funny ... knew i loved Bob Hope for a reason ...

Can you post a Quicktime version of the Bob Hope video or let me know where I can get it. Thanx.
Definitely the best clip

Nevermind I got from Gerald Hibbs Blog.
Thanx, again

The funniest thing about this line is that it's during FDR's presidency who happened to bring this country out of the Great Depression and also win WWII and also happened to be a democrat. Stupid conservatives.
Bruno's Comment:
Jimbo, Your weak public education exposes you. FDR brought us out of the depression!? This is delusional. FDR prolonged the depression. Even liberal economists concede this point.
Your lack of economic knowledge is surpassed only by your lack of a sense of humor. But then, it is our lot in life to be plagued by a entire class of dour, lemon-sucking liberals who destroy our freedom "for our own good" while doing the best they can to make as many people as angry and miserable as they are.
Come back often. The contrast is appreciated.
Posted by: Ghost of Jimbo Floor at September 12, 2005 08:20 PM
you people are idiots
Bruno's comment:
This has basically become the entire liberal argument. Few liberals can discuss anything of substance with any rationality, and they have no sense of humor.
They take themselves so seriously that they have no idea how laughable they really are.

That does have to be 1 of the greatest movie lines ever. Hits the nail on the head.
What's shocking to me is that this was apparently well known in 1940. I've heard all this talk that the democratic party used to have good ideas and relevance. Apparently this was even longer ago than I thought, maybe never.
FDR brought us socialism. Gee, thanks. We always wanted that.
