I’m sure that every state has some dumb ideas enshrined in its Constitution, but only Illinois a Constitution that is arguably absurd in almost every context.
If you can find another state that has a worse system for electing a Lt. Gov., please tell me.
A useless office combined with a perverse process for seating them. Only in Illinois. No wonder the state is a playground for Jerry Springer types.
